I've been following the Wiki for quite a while, and my god, how it's changed! BFH-Wiki, you've certainly improved things much more than I used to. Keep this up, and maybe this will end up the Official BFH Wiki.RedShocktrooper 10:24, January 30, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! I really appreciate your comment. You and MyCookie were the main contributors before I made a sweeping swipe. I asked U-238 some month ago if there'll be any internal wiki in future and he told me that there are no current plans for. Which means no... but he told me if there's a good one or if I'll start/improve one that it's good enough to be promoted on the main page they will do so. So I remembered this one and at the same time the wikia layout was improved - and here we are now ;)

I'll continue through weapons for now and I guess widgets will be next afterwards, but who knows ^^ From time to time some other contributors correct some of my spelling mistakes, gladly that's what a wiki should be.

Front page Edit

Ever thought of updating the front page's design/layout? There are many good links, but it looks a bit messy...

IWantCoffee (talk) 17:03, October 4, 2012 (UTC)

*cough* Template:Content?? Whenever you got a good idea up your sleves press the "edit" button in dire situations ;) Means the wiki is free to edit everywhere as long as it is an improvement. Only want to mention that I'm kinda proud of the News/Announcements/Help and Support section, so see it as a challange when putting your hands on these :3 BFH-Wiki (talk) 18:18, October 4, 2012 (UTC)
Heh :) Been playing a bit around with CSS3 to see if I could make a somewhat BFH'ish look, and I think it ended pretty well. Unfortunately only the newest browsers support css3, so it's kind of a no-go. :< Still CSS3 seems to have some nice features like the rounded corners.
Here is an example of what I ended up with:
Content Portals
Help & Support

IWantCoffee (talk) 19:05, October 5, 2012 (UTC)

O_o Tricky tricky, didn't know about being able to differ between corner radius on the same object. The layout looks fantastic, nothing to add beside that it's not looking that bad on IE6 either (always use FF and didn't bother upgrading IE).
For the content I'd replace the admin portal with the community portal and upload some better fitting GPL icons. You got the portal idea from the BF-Wiki, didn't you? I wouldn't mind blowing the current (roy/nat/gunner/soldier/mando) icons in the wind for a new set that is more flexible in regards to changes. BFH-Wiki (talk) 20:32, October 5, 2012 (UTC)
Glad you like it. Yes, I got the Content Portals idea from the BF-Wiki. I thought it could work well here on this wiki too. Regarding the icons, I simply picked whatever icons that was already uploaded, since embedding icons didn't work. The same goes with the big icons, so uploading/making some new ones would be needed. I'm not good friends with PS though, so I won't be able to make them.
Btw, does the wiki has a Sandbox page? Then I can upload the rest of what I made so far. IWantCoffee (talk) 09:41, October 6, 2012 (UTC)
You're reading my mind, aren't you? I was about to use my personal sandbox, but you digged up the central one I even forgot about. Struggling through the licensing templates atm as preparation for the icon usage. BFH-Wiki (talk) 15:27, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Why not community contributions? Edit

Useful contributions by the community for example W@R and autoadmin servers. Seems that this wiki has no section about these great contributions! --Pier4r (talk) 19:08, April 30, 2013 (UTC)

VIH, Moderators and Server Providers go in that direction, the wiki would benefit from a new page about Server Administration a lot indeed. And please note that this talk page is about discussing the front page layout, general issues better fit to the forum. BFH-Wiki (talk) 09:30, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
thanks, about the wrong "talk", sorry didn't know :P .

The Rightcolumn Edit

The right column makes the frontpage look so incomplete. Any ideas/suggestions of what to put there? IWantCoffee (talk) 15:35, June 6, 2013 (UTC)

Bump, because I can. IWantCoffee (talk) 21:11, September 3, 2013 (UTC)
I could swear I left a comment suggesting polls or a random stub/cleanup. Anyways, do you use an adblocker? If so, it normally shows a couple of ads right there (at least while loged-out) :3 BFH-Wiki (talk) 20:34, September 5, 2013 (UTC)
Well, I do in fact use the NoScript addon; still don't see any adds when I turn it off though.
Anyway, a poll sounds like a good idea. It might just be the best way to get the feedback from the visitors, that I have been missing. The limited statistics Wikia provides us on the daily visitor, really makes it difficult to dicide which sections on the wiki to improve and work on. I'll make a thread in our forum with some suggestions to start with, then hopefully some of our other editors will contribute with some other suggestions. IWantCoffee (talk) 14:24, September 6, 2013 (UTC)
They gonna beat you down with a div covering their ads [1] :P w:c:battlefield managed to get a poll via some hidden Mediawiki:FeatureXYZ page. BFH-Wiki (talk) 17:17, September 10, 2013 (UTC)

──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── The poll will be placed inside the mainpage-rightcolumn tag, thus it shouldn't end up covering the top-right ad. From what I can see, this was the problem that Wagnike2 fixed. I'm not totally sure what you mean by battlefield wiki using mediawiki for the poll. It can be created using the poll tags <poll></poll> like this. IWantCoffee (talk) 19:42, September 10, 2013 (UTC)

Dafuq, I should have taken a closer look to your edit! Taking everything back and stating the opposite ;) BFH-Wiki (talk) 17:46, September 11, 2013 (UTC)

Popular Articles Edit

A collection on articles brought over from the {{Content}} template back when the page was updated. Since these are not really 'popular articles' (see Most Visited), I was wondering if we should rename it to something else, put some other articles in there or just keep it as it is? -- IWantCoffee (talk) 19:12, January 27, 2014 (UTC)

Suggestion for a new fron-tpage design Edit

Welcome to the Battlefield Heroes Wiki

A wiki about Battlefield Heroes, that anyone can edit!

The Game
HeroesButton Battlefield Heroes is a Third Person Cartoon Shooter. It focuses on fun, easy access and it is 100% free to play, but most exclusives are only affordable with real money. Right now the game is in Open Beta, which means you can play it at their website! It's developed by EAsy, and was initially developed during Alpha stage by DICE, the producers of some of the earlier Battlefield series... read more

Hope for the futureEdit

Battlefield Heroes got shutdown as EA announced on their website. The official website is Down and the Plugin can't be activated.

The game could be modded to be playable offline but some work would be needed to it happen.

If some real hackers could MOD the game , there would be a Battlefield Heroes 2 or Battlefield Heroes Pirate Version.

Yep. If that happens it'll be very nice indeed. If there's any progress, you are welcomed to report it here. BFH-Wiki (talk) 20:42, July 18, 2015 (UTC)
